History of
Youth Bocce


Mission Statement

To support over 400 athletes with a disability in the GTA and York Region. Rooted in trust and complete dedication, we use the game of Bocce to promote participation, socialization and a sense of community for our athletes.

  • Founded in 1994
  • Provides an autumn-winter bocce program
  • Hosts the largest bocce tournament in Canada
  • Offers bursary awards for special financial needs participants
  • Organizes pilgrimages with small groups of participants. Visited Pope John Paul 2nd in 2000, in Rome Italy, the holy shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, in France, in 2002, the Lago Maggiore and the Holy Shrine of Our Lady of Oropa in Piemonte Italy, in 2006 and included the visit to the Holy Land in 2013 and walked in the Footsteps of Jesus.
  • Youth Bocce is a private organization and it is not government funded. All events are made possible with the support of many committed sponsors that purchase advertisement space in the Youth Bocce Magazine, or on the annual Youth Bocce Poster.
  • Youth Bocce Canada hosted the first International Bocce Tournament in 2010 and the second International Bocce Tournament in 2015, winning Gold both times.
  • Participated 3 times in the Italian Special Olympics Bocce game, and won Gold again.
  • Hosts an annual All Inclusion Bocce Tournament where ALL ARE ABLE, ALL ARE EQUAL, ALL ARE ACCEPTED.
